FIRST CONGRESS CONFERENCE

KANSAS CITY FOREIGN TRADE ZONE

& ITEC KC DEVELOPMENT

ICOBP’s parent company, Uniworld, in joint venture with SWD Inc. and the City of Kansas City, are developing over 2,000 acres of prime real estate located in Kansas City, Missouri.

This acreage has obtained federal designation as a Foreign Trade Zone. This is a joint ventured project under the name ITEC KC LLC which will be managed and operated by Uniworld, Inc. as its founder and principal.

FOREIGN TRADE ZONE

This Foreign Trade Zone along with additional land at the Kansas City International Airport becomes the largest land designation in the United States and around the globe. This area is accommodated by the greater area of Kansas City, Missouri having:

• The largest rail center in the U.S. by tonnage.
• More Foreign Trade Zone space than any other city in the U.S.
• A location at the intersection of three major interstate highways of the nation, allowing ground transportation to reach coast to coast plus north to south connecting Canadian and Mexican borders.
• The Kansas City International Airport, which moves more air cargo annually for a six state region, is one of a few U.S. international airports ready and capable of handling the new super cargo jets that will go into service in 2008.
• A location on the largest, navigable inland waterways and its own seaport. (Ships and barges navigate up the Mississippi River from the Gulf of Mexico onto the Missouri River Channel directly into Kansas City and this international seaport.)
• This Foreign Trade Zone will be home to the new International Rail System that serves receipt and distribution of goods from both Canada and Mexico. The rail system connects to both countries, industrialized cities, and their own seaports. The Kansas City Foreign Trade Zone will serve as the nation’s central hub for foreign trade.
• This is a perfect place to locate warehousing, distribution centers, light manufacturing and convenient international sales and marketing offices.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND EXPO COMPLEX

ITEC KC

Phase I development (now underway) includes one of Uniworld’s own projects, the ITEC Expo. ITEC (International Trade and Expo Complex) becomes the international destination and permanent year-round showcase.

This 200-acre development shall consist of:

• A 258,000 square feet indoor facility, to serve as an agriculture center with 40 acres of outdoor exhibit space for farm equipment and machinery and various agriculture and energy displays.
• 200,000 square feet indoor facility for the trucking, transportation, specialty vehicles, and automotive aftermarket industries, with 10 acres of outdoor product display.
• 262,500 square feet special events center, built arena-style to accommodate a multitude of various events, conventions, promotions, educational seminars, and international venues.
• 60 acres with over 50,000 square feet of indoor classrooms dedicated as an international job-training academy. This academy shall be focused on training and certifying drivers and operators of heavy equipment, machinery, trucks, transportation, specialty vehicles, busses, and farm machinery and equipment. These grounds will also serve as a demonstration area for the equipment manufacturers located as tenants in this complex.

CET CELEBRATED ITS 40TH ANNIVERSARY

Last October 2007, the Center of Employment Training hosted its 40th anniversary celebration. CET is one of ICOBP’s non-profit education providers that are one of the America’s largest, most effective educational, and accredited employment training programs available. Their mission is based on a philosophy of self-determination.

CET seeks to promote the human development and education of low-income people by providing them with marketable skills training and supportive services that contribute to economic self-sufficiency.
