COMPANY HISTORY

This summary is designed to inform business associations and organizations, individuals interested in membership enrollment and pioneering sponsors of the pre-organizational research, research findings and how ICOBP's unique organizational structure and platform was formed.

RESEARCH

Over the past years, ICOBP's parent company, Uniworld, and its devoted team have networked across the nation and around the globe attending various industry conventions, business conferences and meetings with many governmental agency leaders. Through the networking, we were able to select key persons, conduct focus group meetings and perform one on one research sessions for ideas, comments and suggestions to determine the level of interest in participating in such a global organization, plus additional services we would need to provide to be successful.

This process has yielded valuable information as to the needs desired, how to best structure such an organization for long-term success, how to market memberships and sponsorships for a quick start-up in order to obtain a large membership participation in the first year of operations, and other key elements that the organization should immediately consider to make it all work. These suggestions, ideas, comments and valuable information came from thousands of business leaders, business owners, occupational professionals, governmental leaders, department heads and ambassadors representing 105 countries around the globe.

RESEARCH FINDINGS

With financial and business trends moving more and more toward a global economy, a major void (niche) was found within the business sector. Most businesses belong to a specific industry related membership organization which provides them great information and education within their industry. Consequently, most business leaders belong to local membership business associations in their own city, but are missing the true interlink to the globe for networking, education in global business basics, governmental rules and regulations and availability to financing in other countries as they endeavor to conduct business outside their own country.

These existing membership organizations tend to conduct meetings and conventions that fall short of the true networking required, wanted and desired. They seem to hire speakers, put on an educational seminar for 1 to 3 days; then everyone goes home. What is missing is the time allowed to make actual contact with other business professionals for deal making, especially for those who are not just another competitor in their industry, as is the case with most associations.

Las Vegas, Nevada is recognized around the globe as the premier international destination for meetings and deal making. Las Vegas currently conducts close to 24,000 conventions per year, each bringing thousands of vendors and attendees. As an international city, Las Vegas currently hosts close to 40 million visitors per year from around the world and is considered globally as a neutral city for doing business.

In this time of a fast growing global economy, the need for interaction with governmental agencies, trade authorities, taxation experts, and the need to know the credible resources, suppliers and financiers in the countries they desire to expand into becomes huge for all industries, professions and service organizations.

BEGINNING FOUNDATION

From the ideas, suggestions, comments, expressed needs and desires, the following guidelines for the structure have been determined.

Such an organization must be established on a business platform and operated as a business, by business professionals, and not by its members. For example, many associations have been formed over the past 20 years that were great when operated as a business, but failed when key members became the leaders by election. The reason is that other members become jealous or had disagreements, thinking that member leaders were getting the most privileges, and then dropped their memberships. (COMDEX is a great example).

Interaction with members is a must. Elections should be held each year for specified committees in which these members can be involved and have their needs and voices heard for continuous improvement.

There must be immediate benefits to members when rolling out the program and conducting membership drives. This is where Uniworld has lined up several beginning sponsors that can add additional benefits to its program.

KEY STEPS TO SUCCESS

ISO Training

Begin training and provide marketing material for ISOs (Independent Sales Organizations) in order to immediately begin signing-up new members in their countries.

First International Congress Conference

This historic will be a Five Day educational, networking and deal-making event. The First International Congress offers its "Pioneer Members" the opportunity to be appointed to ICOBP's prestigious committees, special panels and advisory boards, all of which will be globally diversified with specialist and expert appointments in various industies, professions and specific agenda focused objectives for global business advancement.

There will be educational keynote speakers on topics such as:

  • Global economics
  • International trade for business and industry
  • Governmental rules and regulations
  • Resonant style leadership
  • Taxation opportunities
  • Common business pitfalls

This will all be combined with seminar type classes on international financing and security that need to be in place when trading or conducting deals internationally.

Actual networking and deal making sessions will be broken up into many different business segments in a trade show type of environment that will focus on topics such as manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, medical, service providers, finance, etc., so that the attendees can accumulate the desired information and have the ability to meet one on one with leaders in their industry and government leaders from around the world. While at the conference they can explore opportunities and carry out deal making.

The last day of the conference becomes a joint session workshop that will involve everyone into a think-tank process that will allow ICOBP to conduct member research for further developments and members’ desired needs for the future. The event will end with an evening banquet, entertainment and a motivational kickoff that will prepare everyone for future involvement.

MARKETING APPROACH

There is a unique marketing approach to capture an immediate volume of members around the globe. Although conventional membership drives will be a part of our marketing program, ICOBP has now in place committed Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs) across the United States and in many countries.

All the countries and their major cities have existing business associations and organizations. These associations and organizations gather the local business people who are seeking ways to expand into the global marketplace, and hire instructors, speakers, etc. to come and speak to them. ICOBP simply becomes the master international support organization for all these other business groups.

OUR MODELS

National Association of Realtors

As an example of the effectiveness of this platform, in the 1950’s and 1960’s every city across the U.S. had its own real estate board to which agents and brokers belonged. While they desired to work with other agents and brokers nationwide so they could share in commissions, referral and brokerage fees, there was virtually no way to do this.

A group of professionals registered and trade marked the name “Realtor.” (Only those that are active members of the National Association of Realtors can use this title.) For the local associations, the national association provided the national platform for lobbying for federal regulatory changes and an opportunity to network and join together in strength across the nation.

The National Association gave each board a master membership whereby they could be called a “Realtor Association.” They as well were paid a commission for signing up each of their local association members to an add-on national membership. Consequently, within one year they became one of the largest membership groups formed.

They have only strengthened each year thereafter and can now share in commissions for deals across the country and, in some cases, out of country. ICOBP is now poised to be the International Leader for all business associations and membership based organizations for international business and trade support.

Comdex

ICOBP learned what not-to-do from the experiences of COMDEX. Sheldon Adelsen started Comdex on a solid business platform. In just six years, Comdex became the largest membership based business support platform focused on technology. It was a must to belong to Comdex if you were in the business utilizing computer and electronics technology.

When Comdex and the business was sold, members became the operators of the company and Comdex went into a self-destruction mode. Members became jealous of other members that were elected for operating positions. These member operators, as perceived by others, were receiving preferential advantages and unfair positioning and discounts.

Within two years, Comdex filed bankruptcy and ceased to exist in the grand fashion it once had. Since, members have scrambled to C.E.S. and other organizations in efforts to find something similar.

BUSINESS STRUCTURE

ICOBP’s business structure is established on a corporate business platform for long-term success. Members purchase their membership for access to member benefit programs and needed general business support. These members shall have the right to serve on selected committees and focus groups where they can provide professional ideas, input and consultation beneficial to the members and their businesses in general, yet they will not be involved in the actual operation of the ICOBP business itself.

ICOBP has followed guidelines similar to the National Association of Realtors and Comdex that are established on a business platform. ICOBP becomes the international membership support system for all business professionals. ICOBP has identified and created a master list of thousands of similar type associations around the globe to which ICOBP could be beneficial.

The marketing teams in place around the globe will earn commissions for affiliating associations or organizations to which ICOBP will provide a master membership, as well as for each individual membership submitted. The affiliated association or organization will earn a 15% commission on each of the members they sign up for ICOBP as an add-on membership, or they can elect to discount the membership fees to their current members. The ISO sales teams will additionally perform individual membership drives.

From those associations already contacted and awaiting documentation, if only 10% of their members signed up, it is quite feasible that over the first two years ICOBP could become one of the largest single membership organizations ever formed.
